Abstract

A beta-ray gauge with 14c weak source was established to measure both release paper and coated paper with epoxy resin during the direct hot-melting manufacture of prepreg. Meanwhile, the resin content of coated paper was tested uncontinuously using the weight method. The results indicated that the intensity ratio of beta-ray 1/Io was consistent with the resin content value. Therefore, the beta-ray gauge with 14c weak source is suitable for the monitoring of resin content in prepreg on line.
