Abstract

The development and application of ceramic matrix composites (CMC) used in rocket motor nozzle and nozzle throat are reviewed in this paper, including continuous fiber-reinforced CMC, functionally graded ceramic composites, ceramic coatings on C/C and refractory metals, and the BN-based CMC used in plasma rocket motor. Problems for further research are suggested as well.
