Abstract

The paper proposes a novel permanent magnetic coupler (PMC) with bilateral structure, which has lots of advantages, such as low leakage flux and high torque density. The electromagnetic torque expression of PMC can be droved by using analytic calculation, and then torque characteristics with magnetic leakage factor and current density are compared between traditional unilateral structure and the bilateral by 3D finite element. At last, theoretical result is validated by simulation and experiment.
