Abstract

A new controllable exciting magnetic flux PMSM was presented based on the variable magnetic reluctance in the exciting circuit. The exciting magnetic reluctance was changed through movement of permanent magnets and its effective magnetic flux was adjusted to accomplish the regulation function of air-gap magnetic field. The qualitative analysis show that electromagnetic force increases with raising speed and the direction is towards circle center radically or a small angle deviation based on the simplified model of the electromagnetic force analysis. The electromagnetic force on the permanent magnets is calculated quantitatively by virtual displacement method from three aspects of the position of the permanent magnets, the shape of the non-magnetic conductor and the saturation of the PMSM. The calculation results are corresponding to me analysis results, which can verify the electromagnetic force variations meet the requirement of the balanced centrifugal force in the flux-weakening principle.
