Abstract

A numerical method for calculation of the effective thermal conductivity of ceramic fiber insulation is developed. In the present study, the analysis of the effective thermal conductivity which considering conductive and radiative heat transfer in fibrous layers is studied. In fact, the effects of inequality volume fraction of fiber must be considered in the great majority of types in fibrous insulation. The method for correcting these effects is submitted in this study. The validity of this method is shown by comparing the results with the data obtained by TOHO Gas Corporation.
