Abstract

The rotor of the 2A70 aluminum alloy with the complex shape is an important part of the missile engine with the high requirement of microstructure and capability. The rotor is produced by use of the isothermal enclosed die forging. The combined female die is used to take the rotor out easily. Many experiments are carried out to investigate the effect of the temperature on the process. On the basis of experiments, the rotor is forged precisely with the heated temperature of the billet and the die are both 435°C. As a result, all of the mechanical properties, microstructure and the dimension accuracy satisfy the technical requirement.
