Abstract
Flame temperature measurement is very important in combustion diagnostics and is useful for determining the various combustion processes. According to the reference temperature model of multi-spectral thermometry, a kind of new data processing technique based on genetic algorithm (GA) was introduced. The relationship between the emissivity and wavelength of the flame was linearly fitted at three points in turn and optimized by GA to obtain the temperature and the emissivities of the flame. The self-radiation spectrum of the combustion flame of a solid propellant was measured using a multi-wavelength pyrometer. The results show that the temperature differences between the calculated values and the theoretical values are within ± 100K. Therefore, this method is a practical method for measuring the luminous flame temperature.
