Abstract

The paper conducted a theoretical analysis and simulation research on the control strategy of STATCOM based on modular multilevel converter (MMC). Precharging control strategy, capacitor voltage balance control strategy as well as STATCOM control strategy are proposed. According to the simulation model of SVG, the strategy proposed is proposed. The control methods are tested with the help of PSCAD.
