abstract = "Coupling beam is a very important component in shear wall structure. However, the reinforced concrete coupling beam does not have an efficient energy dissipation capacity and a stable hysteretic behavior. A new type energy-dissipating coupling beam is proposed in the paper, which has a large energy dissipation capacity and a stable hysteretic behavior. It can be constructed and repaired easily. Models with different shapes were established in a Finite Element Analysis program to simulate the performance of the damper. The hysteretic behaviors of the damper were also numerical analyzed.",
