Abstract
With the rapid development and extensive application of modern information technology, remote cooperation, remote education, remote trades and services have become realizable. In order to meet toe development requirements, a remote monitoring and control system of NC machining cell based on client/server architecture was confirmed and developed, whose architecture and all its functions were well clarified. Also an application layer protocol named NCMCRMCP based on TCP/IP protocol was developed, on which relative application programmes were completed. It is verified by experiments that this system can carry out the real-time remote monitoring and control over NC machining cell reliably and accurately.
