Research on reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall

Abstract

On the basis of put forward the concept of reinforced block short-leg masonry shear wall. The two horizontal cyclic loading experiments of 'T' cross-section specimens and '-' cross-section frame specimens had been carried out. The capacity, the load-deformation relation, the failure process and the failure mode had been studied. The results of experiment shows: the failure mode of three specimens is press brake or curved scissors, the tension reinforcement and compressive reinforcement are both yield, and the strength of masonry which has been poured with concrete is compressive ultimate strength; that the seismic behavior of reformed block short-leg masonry shear wall structure is very good, The capacity, the load-deformation relation, the failure process and the failure mode are all similitude with short-leg shear wall, but the dissipative nature is better than short-leg shear wall; the beam has improved the seismic behavior of the structure; the deformation of masonry and concrete is correspondence, the entirety and tensility are very good. Not only it can be used as a substitute for the clay brick masonry structure, but also it will be one of structural forms that are constructed small-high building.
