Abstract
Based on the analysis of the braking characteristics in the city drive cycle and high power density of hydrostatic drive hybrid vehicles, considering the effects of vehicle load weight and propulsion mode on regenerative braking performance, a regenerative braking control strategy for parallel hydraulic hybrid vehicles (PHHV) was proposed. A backward simulation model of PHHV was built with numerical modeling and theoretical modeling methods. Hydraulic regenerative braking was researched under typical driving cycles using the backward simulation model for PHHV and the results show that the control strategy and the models are accurate and applicable, and the braking energy under the premise of safety brake can be regenerated effectively.
