Research on Protection System of Electronic On-load Tap-changers Based Sen Transformer

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

In order to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the electronic on-load tap-changer based Sen transformer (EST), this paper investigates the protection system within the EST device based on the switching transient model for EST. The protection system of EST specifically includes starting circuit and short-circuit protection, overcurrent and overvoltage protection, and voltage spike protection. The simulation tests were carried out by PSCAD/EMTDC X4.5 software to compare the simulation results with and without the protection system, and the results initially verify the effectiveness of the proposed protection system.
