Abstract

A novel dual-band microstrip planar antenna array with patch element schemed by using inset-fed feed technology is proposed. This feed structure is equivalent to loading a reactance on the microstrip patch. Through adjusting the length of the feeding line, the microstrip antenna obtains two zero points and realizes dual-band. Based on this patch element and parallel network, a planar 4×4 dual-band microstrip array is fabricated. The experiment and simulation results have a good agreement. The dual-band is at 32.5 GHz and 35.7 GHz. The gain of the antenna array is 16.25 dB and the radiant efficiency is 82%.
