Research on master curve of common asphalt mixtures in Liaoning province

Abstract

Three kinds of asphalt mixtures (AC-16, AC-20, AC-25), which commonly used in Liaoning province, were tested by the dynamic frequency sweep tests with three temperatures and eleven loading frequencies. Then the impacts of test temperatures and loading frequencies on dynamic modulus and phase angle of asphalt mixtures were estimated. The results of study show that the dynamic modulus of asphalt mixture decreases with increase of test temperature, and the dynamic modulus increase with increase of the loading frequency. The dynamic modulus master curve and master curve cluster was established on the basis of time temperature superposition, and the design parameters under typical condition was put forward, which are helpful to provide good reference for Liaoning province to use dynamic modulus as pavement design parameters.
