Abstract

In this paper, three kinds of magnetic field distributions on the polishing head in the newly presented ultrasonic-magnetorheological compound finishing (UMC finishing) are studied. Experiments are carried out to test the influence on the surface quality by different kinds of magnetic field distributions on the polishing head in UMC finishing. The results show that the magnetic field distribution influences the surface quality in UMC finishing with the same ultrasonic vibration.
