Abstract
Nowadays, underground equipments are widely applied to explore oil resource in deep earth. Static seal rings are important components keeping underground equipment working steadily. Since pressure and temperature under ground are much higher than those on the ground, it is not easy to predict leakage of static seal rings in underground equipment through experimental ways. So a leakage prediction calculation method is proposed in this paper. Framework of the method is firstly presented. A local contacting FE model is built based on fractal theory and a leakage prediction model for static seal ring is given. Then, the leakage prediction calculation method is realized. To validate the proposed method, a test is performed. It can be seen that the calculation method is useful to predict sealing ability of static seal rings in underground equipments.
