Abstract

To improve the working performances of radar seeker, a new concept of polarized multiple input and multiple output (MIMO) radar seeker is proposed and its key technique is researched in this paper. The radar seeker employs a dual polarized antenna array, and each antenna sub-array transmits an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing linear frequency (OFDM-LFM) signal. Two polarized signal components of radar echoes are simultaneously received and each echo signal is effectively separated by matching filtering. The instantaneous polarization detection and recognition technique are used to improve the anti-jamming ability of radar seeker. The angle measurement and target tracking are realized by employing the monopulse technique. The results of theory analysis and simulation demonstrate that the polarized MIMO guidance radar seeker has good performance in electronic warfare.
