Abstract

In recent years, China’s ice and snow industry has entered a fast—growing phase, boosting the ice and snow tourism market. Amid the flourishing ice and snow tourism, ice shell buildings have gained more attention. As tourists demand better travel experiences, the thermal comfort inside ice shell buildings is crucial for their spatial use efficiency. This study focuses on ice restaurants, a typical ice shell building. Using the Grasshopper platform, it sets up a parametric modeling and performance simulation workflow to explore the indoor thermal conditions of different—shaped ice restaurant models.
