Abstract

Accurate, reliable and fast troubleshooting for motor drive system used in hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is an effective way to improve the vehicle's performance. To diagnose some faults of PMSM in HEV, a finite-element model of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with partial demagnetization faults or stator interturn faults was established. Fault characteristics were extracted from voltage or current failure signals, which can provide references for same faults detection.
