Abstract

In order to understand the influence of the main component materials of high strength CA mortar on the mechanical properties, the influence of changes of the mass ratio of asphalt emulsion to cement(mA/mC) and the mass ratio of sand to cement(mS/mC) on the strength and elasticity modulus was studied. In order to analyze the microcosmic mechanism of mechanical properties of CA mortar, the cement asphalt gel microstructure and interface between CA mastic and sand in CA mortar were observed by the scan electron microscopy. Results show as follows: The axial compressive strength and elasticity modulus of CA mortar decline dramatically with the increase of mA/mC; along with increasing of mS/mC, the elasticity modulus of CA mortar changes little, while the 28 d axial compressive strength changes little at first and then declines sharply; the cement asphalt gel microstructure characters and interface bonding between CA mastic and sand in CA mortar determine the mechanical characteristics of CA mortar. The appropriate mA/mC and good flow properties are the guarantee of good mechanical properties of CA mortar.
