Abstract

Frequency-modulation/continuous-wave (FWCW) ladar is a new kind optical incoherent ladar with high-resolution range image and intensity image. Therefore it attracts a lot of interest. Range image extraction and noise suppression are the key technologies. The range images of ladar with and without noise are extracted and studied respectively to analyze the influence of noise on the process of range image extraction. Meanwhile, mean filtering algorithm, median filtering algorithm and order-median filtering algorithm are used to suppress the noise of the range images. The pixel number of our range image is 64×64. The simulation results show that order-median filtering algorithm has better performance on suppressing Gaussian noise and salt-and-pepper noise.
