Abstract

A compiled-type numerical control system based on asynchronous operating mode was proposed. The system constitutes of data center, motion control cards and communication system, solving the contradiction between real-time and openness property. The architecture and work procedure of the system were illustrated. According to the features of system that are large amount of data transmission, high transmission speed requirements and numerous connected devices, data compression technology of NC system was studied. LZW compression algorithm was chosen after contrast, and compression based on PC software was implemented in data center while decompression based on FPGA hardware being implemented in motion control cards. The simulation and experiment results show that data compression ratio could be under 10%, compression and decompression speed are fast and system requirements are satisfied.
