Abstract

Ammonia nitrogen is difficult to remove in winter drinking water by traditional methods, So alkali graphite electrode double graphite electrodes are used to study removing rate of ammonia nitrogen by electrochemical oxidation. Current density, Plate spacing, Content of chloride ions and pH are discussed to find the optimum process control condition. The results shows that: when current density is 10.7 mA/cm 2, pH is 7, plate spacing is 10 mm, the ratio of Cl -:NH 4 + is 6:1, the removal rate of 5 mg/L ammonia nitrogen is up to 80% by electrochemical oxidation method in 5°C.
