abstract = "Laser communications appear to have potential advantage in the future global communication network. However, in the presence of atmospheric turbulence, the performance of satellite to ground links is degraded. Eventually, atmosphere causes fatal results such as the received optical power and signal to noise ratio (SNR) degradation and communication outage. In this paper, the research progress of laser communications is briefly summarized and adaptive compensation technology in the laser communication links is discussed. Meanwhile, control algorithm for adaptive compensation technology is given and we consider that the action with applying the optimized control algorithm to actual adaptive optics system application is that it is significant meaning.",
