Abstract

Aiming at problem of big proportion of cogeneration units in three Northern areas, leading to serious wind curtailment, the paper presents a scheme of adding peak-shaving electric boiler in secondary heat supply network (heat exchange station). Based on heat system with boilers in secondary heat supply network, start/stop control model of peaking electric boilers and heating balance equation of primary and secondary networks are established. Taking coal consumption as objective function, the paper builds joint scheduling model of electricity and heat, where electrical load is balanced with all network units while thermal load with cogeneration units and peak-shaving electric boilers, and relationship between lower and upper power limits of cogeneration units is also considered. At the same time, influence of different peak shaving scheme on coal consumption and wind curtailment is taken into consideration. The results show that this scheme, reducing peak heat load of thermal power units and increasing valley electric load of power system, can optimize thermal and electric load curve of operating units, offering more space for wind power accommodation.
