Abstract

A novel differential reciprocating driving linear ultrasonic motor with dual stators was developed and a control method with pulses strain was proposed. The process of driving the moving object was analyzed. It is implemented for the ultrasonic motor to feed in step at unidirection and in differential reciprocating in bidirection. The amount of feed and moving direction and determined by the difference of the amount of pulses to drive dual stators respectively. The prototype has been used in electrical discharge machining.
