Research on 5-DOF NC milling machine simulation modeling

Abstract

In order to improve complex surface-processing ability of traditional milling machine, a new kind of 5-DOF Numerical Control (NC) milling machine was put forward. Compared with the traditional ones, the new machine could process the work pieces with more complex surfaces and increase functions of milling machine. The mechanism structure of the milling machine was analyzed. Moreover, the simulation modeling of this milling machine, including modeling building modules and analyzing parameterized module, was realized. Workspace generation and selection of optimized workspace of this milling machine were discussed in detail.
