N2 - This paper describes the composition of virtual cutting system and the process of virtual cutting. Based on triangular mesh model, some issues, such as the judgment of cutting conditions and the access to cutting path, are studied in details. With the progressive mesh subdivision algorithm and the body element subdivision method, the mesh splitting process and the formation of kerfs are discussed, and the virtual cutting effect is simulated on computer.
