Research of library network information resources integration based on XML

In order to improve the overall efficiency of using library digital information resources and achieve the sharing of information resources between the libraries. A XML based on library network information resource integration model was put forward. The library collection of documentation and information resources and other local information resources integrating system prototype of HIT (Harbin Institute of Technology) has been designed and built. Using the JSP + XML technique, a cross-database inquiring system was developed to integrate different types of document information resource, which offered the users a unified database inquiring platform and methods with convenient retrieval process, more satisfying searching results.
