Abstract

In order to research the influencing factors on strength and stiffness of composite cap-shape girder, using the finite element method a series of composite cap-shape girder finite element models were established with different core materials, frame space, section shape and apex angle. The analysis of core provides theoretical basis for the model simplification. Considering the strength and stiffness of composite cap-shape girder and the cost of shipbuilding. The optimal range of the frame space is 400 mm~500 mm of the side plate. Keeping the width of panel and the height of web unchanged, the trapezoidal section is superior to the rectangular section and the best profile shape is an isosceles trapezoid whose apex angle is about 120°.
