Abstract

Magnesium alloy has significant application prospect in medical field due to its good biomechanical compatibility and mechanical properties as well as biodegradable characteristics. The influence of extrusion process on microstructure and properties researched during the production of the AZ31 magnesium alloy thin tube. The results show that the grains become fine and homogeneous when the mold temperature is 200 ℃, billet temperature is 200 ℃ and the extrusion ratio is 18.68 with the minimum wall rate distribution 3.4% as well as the tensile strength reaches 303.540 MPa; the grain of the tube is 3.0 μm and homogeneous with the highest elongation of 9.4% when the extrusion ratio is 18.68 and the billet temperature is 200 ℃.
