Abstract

Streak tube imaging lidar (STIL) is a new type flash laser radar, which has the characteristics of wide view field, high space and range resolution, and high detection sensitivity and can directly export the 4-D image (3-D range image + 1-D intensity image) of target. It is one of the major technologies for under-water laser 3-D imaging. A single-slit integrated STIL was self-developed, which could collect the image of far distance target. With the turbid water in the Huanghai Sea, experiments of under-water target detections were finished by the equipment. The target streak images of different depths and different surface materials were obtained, and the maximum detecting depth was 5 m. Then the imaging experiment of ocean surface wave was finished. Though the 4-D image of ocean surface wave, it could be easy to recognize the changes of ocean surface coarseness degree and wave height. The results show that STIL have well prospect of application in under-water detection, evading obstacle and wave spectrum analysis.
