Abstract

Asymmetrical magnetic couplers are often applied in the wireless charging system of inspection robots with strong misalignment adaptability. When a specific range misalignment occurs on the receiving coil, the mutual inductance between the transmitting coil and the receiving coil remains almost constant, thereby ensuring stable power transmission. However, since the bottom chassis of the inspection robot is made of aluminum, it will affect the original asymmetric magnetic coupler's magnetic field distribution and thus lose the effect of mutual inductance stability. This paper analyzes the failure mechanism of a uniform magnetic field caused by metal and improves the original magnetic coupler on this basis to restore the stability of mutual inductance.
