Abstract

By studying the architecture of the Linux kernel and current technology of providing real-time support to Linux, key problems and specific methods of enhancing the real-time capability of the Linux kernel are proposed for embedded applications in the numerical control field. These methods include the implementation of interrupt emulation, high resolution timer and multi-task scheduling policy.
