Abstract

The scientific discovery and development of solid flame phenomenon have been summarized. The history and present condition of the fundamental theory of SHS, i.e. the varieties of systems and processes, patterns and mechanism of combustion, thermodynamics, combustion theory and mathematical models, structural macrokinetics, chemical synthesis of combustion, kinetics of chemical reactions at high temperature were systematically expounded. The experimental methods and their developments were concisely introduced.
