Research and development of on-line visual inspection and traceability system for robot glue spreading quality of car engine hood

Abstract

An entire on-line visual inspection and traceability system was developed in order to increase the inspection speed of robot glue spreading quality of car engine hood and achieve the traceability of quality problem. Based on the robot glue spreading production line of welding workshop of FAW Car, this system built up a hardware platform and designed the on-line inspection and traceability software. A specific camera calibration algorithm was proposed aimed at the characteristic that the position and orientation of robot changed in real time during spreading the glue. The experimental results show that the detection precision can reach to the technical index, 0.3 mm, with the glue spreading speed, 10 m/min, and the detection time can satisfy the requirements of on-line real-time inspection.
