Research and application of key technologies for a network of digital community

With the development of informationization in China, Digital Community, as an important part of Digital City, is paid attention to by many scholars and experts more and more. Community network is the basis of digital community, as well as is the precondition of providing owners with network-based information service. This paper presents key technologies for a network of digital community, such as Broad Band access technology, data-compression technique, effective and efficient digital transmission technique, Multi - cast technique, multimedia terminal technique, network QoS and so on, and studies their applications, according to the status of community construction and network information technology in China.
