abstract = "The removal of cadmium (II), onto agricultural waste biomass carya shell (CS) over a wide range of reaction conditions was studied from aqueous solution. These conditions including the effect of solution pH, initial concentration, contact time on sorption efficiency. The cadmium (II) adsorption was favored with maximum adsorption at pH 7.0. The uptake amount of cadmium (II) onto CS was increased with increasing initial concentration. Biosorption equilibrium time was observed in 50min. The equilibrium adsorption data were fitted to Langmuir adsorption isotherm model and the model parameters were evaluated. The results showed that CS could be employed as a low-cost alternative adsorbent for the removal of cadmium (II) from aqueous solution.",
