Abstract

A novel method using an IIR notch filter to eliminate harmonic interference is proposed in terms of the signal character in TWACS. The notch filter is based on an all-pass filter and has a very low sensitivity at low frequencies due to the mirror-image symmetry relation between the numerator and denomimator palynomials of the all-pass filter. And the notch filter can be implemented by an efficient lattice structure that gets the computation simple. The basic principle and design technique of the filter are discussed in detail. A design example indicates that the notch frequency shift caused by the quantization effect of this method is much less than that of cascade method. Practical experiment and simulation show that The 3rd, 5th harmonic are suppressed effectively and the ability of detecting the signal of TWACS is improved greatly.
