Abstract

To perceive cooling behaviors of the triple-sleeve energy storage exchanger(TRESE)based energy storage heat pump system, a 2 HP prototype was manufactured and run to manifest the cooling performance of the novel system. Experiments included four operation modes under space cooling state. Results reflect that cooling cycle COP is from 2.4 to 3.7 when dry bulb temperature is lower than 25℃ during nighttime. COP of TRESE cooling combined with air source heat pump is from 2.4 to 2.9 as outdoor dry bulb temperature is from 35 to 43℃, which rises by 15% more than that of space cooling by air source heat pump only. When flow rate of cold water through TRESE is 40 L/h, the cooling rate of TRESE in combined cooling is 7.7% with scarcely wave, even with ambient temperature changes. If opening all three TRESEs, the cooling rate of TRESE in combined cooling will be increased up to 23%.
