Abstract

Existing research results couldn't satisfy the requirements of practical scheduling. Drum-Buffer-Rope (DBR) method, which combined releasing and production control to solve bottleneck problem, provided a novel way for scheduling. Based on reviewing the research trends of DBR-based re-entrant manufacturing system scheduling, bottleneck detection, bottleneck shifting, bottleneck starvation and related intelligent scheduling algorithm were illustrated. Finally, problems and future research work were discussed.
