Abstract

This paper proposes a new method based on Hilbert-Huang Transformation (HHT) for designing a radar signal filter in the phase of guidance. The properties of HHT are analyzed and it is shown that HHT can be used to construct a filter for radar signal. Then an improvement is made for HHT to be more appropriate to design a filter. A design scheme is proposed for designing the radar signal filter and the selection policy of key parameter is also present through a cost function. Finally, HHT is compared with a Kalman filter and a Wavelet filter, which are the common used methods for designing a radar signal filter. The simulation shows that the performances of filtering radar signal for HHT are much better than that of the Kalman filter and are the similar with the wavelet filter, but the consuming time of HHT is just half of that of the wavelet filter.
