Abstract

The free toluene diisocyanate (TDI) in TDI-TMP crosslinker must be controlled due to its considerable harm on human. Firstly, the content of free TDI in crosslinker was produced by distillation in vacuum. Secondly, the Structure and content of free toluene diisocyanate (TDI) in TDI-TMP crosslinker were characterized by GC-MS. The results show that the aim product is 2, 6-TDI. Its content is below the national standard of 0.5% in China, coincident with the result detected by IR spectrum. The structure and content of free TDI in crosslinker can be characterized by GC-MS easily and accurately.
