N2 - A time-domain version of the uniform geometrical theory of diffraction (TD-UTD) is introduced to describe, in closed form, the UWB transient electromagnetic diffracted by a perfectly conducting wedge. The UWB pulsed diffracted excitation of the wedge is found via its convolution with the closed form time domain dyadic diffraction coefficient. Some numerical examples, which illustrate the utility of these developments and give more intrinsically interpretations for the mechanics of UWB pulse diffraction, are presented. This work is useful for simplifying the field analysis in modeling the UWB pulse propagation channel.
