Abstract

The recent progress of glass sealing materials used for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) was reviewed in this paper. Silicate based glass, borate based glass, phosphate glass and mica glass-ceramic sealants were presented respectively, and the characteristics of each sealant were compared and the future efforts to improve the properties of these sealants were pointed clearly. At last the paper pointed out that the improvements of sealing material preparation techniques were the main research field for glass sealing materials.
