Abstract

The biological elimination capacity of low mass concentration benzene and toluene waste-gas by biotrickling filter and the kinetic model were researched. The results show that under the operation condition of the influent gas flowrate 600 L/h and the spraying quantity of circulation fluid 20 L/h, the biotrickling filter can get a good removal effect to mixed gas consisting of benzene and toluene: the removal efficiency of benzene is about 65%, toluene about 93%. A kind of high-efficiency bacteria L4 was screened out from the biotrickling filter. With the aid of Sherlock fatty acid profiling by gas chromatography, SI was determined as 0.884, bacteria L4 belongs to Bacillus, sp. The bioprocess has a higher relativity with the kinetic model of adsorption-biomembrane. The correlative coefficient of benzene R2=0.9995, the correlative coefficient of toluene R2=0.9996.
