Abstract
In order to solve the problem of complicated optimization on water quality model calibration of large-scale water distribution systems, problems faced by empirical and automated calibration were analyzed. Countermeasures such as the parallelization of genetic algorithm, the field test of initial model parameters and the grouping of model parameters were presented. Results indicate that these strategies can reduce the variables of model calibration, improve the operating efficiency of genetic algorithms, and reduce the searching time of automated model calibration effectively.
