Abstract
The sine modulation target is an important target for Rayleigh-Taylor instability experiment. A series of sinusoids were machined on pure copper by single point diamond turning (SPDT), such as sinusoids with amplitude of 10 μm and wavelength of 100 μm. The effects of process and measurement on the sinusoidal profile were analyzed. The profile was characterized by Form Talysurf series 2. The results indicate that the sinusoidal profile is smooth whose amplitude and wavelength are approximately the same as the ideal numerical value.
