Abstract

Based on thermodynamic and kinetic theories the composition differences of the amorphous materials prepared by mechanical alloying method and by rapid solidification were compared, and the multi-layer solid phase reaction model of amorphous formation brought forward by Desré, Yavari and their coworkers was introduced. Meanwhile, the influence factors during consolidating amorphous powders were reviewed. Finally, some problems need to be solved in future research and applications were discussed.
